I started sewing during Lockdown and not too bad at the Basics, however, this year, I felt like it was time to improve my skills, to extend my creativity. I came across Glenda’s Beginners Sewing Classes on a Neighbourhood Site; I had covered most of what was on offer on a previous course, so after a lovely telephone conversation, I decided on individual lessons focusing specifically on what I wanted to learn; Zips and Button holes. Glenda and her workshop space is simply amazing! She has every tool and gadget you can think of to enable you to learn and stitch effectively. Personal Needs and disabilities are considered, and Glenda is very accommodated around lesson times. Her teaching style is calm, friendly and thorough with additional learning materials and recommendations to take away. The lesson time just flew by, and I am looking forward to having more lessons, as soon as my work allows. Excellent value for money and great learning experience.

I recently attended a sewing course with Glenda and thoroughly enjoyed it. Glenda is patient, knowledgeable and incredibly approachable, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment where no question feels too small. I learned about my own sewing machine, despite having owned it for years. Glenda explained the different types of needles, threads and fabrics, and how to choose the right combination for each project. She also has plenty of useful tools, tips and techniques that make sewing feel much more accessible and less intimidating. I brought along an item of clothing that needed altering, and Glenda took the time to explain exactly what I needed to do and why. Thanks to the skills and confidence I've gained, I can finally adjust and wear again, rather than leaving them unused because they're too big or too long. The course has really increased my confidence in sewing, and I've come away feeling inspired to continue developing my skills. I'm hoping to join another of Glenda's classes in the future to learn more about tailoring jackets and altering tapered trousers. I would highly recommend Glenda's courses to anyone, whether you're a complete beginner or looking to build on existing skills. Her friendly, open manner and wealth of knowledge make learning enjoyable and rewarding
