Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk 👘 🐈

Finally! I got to see the Kimono exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A): London. I was so excited, because I meant to visit it back in March and then we had the lockdown due to the pandemic. A little longwinded approach to planning my visit, as everyone has to book a time slot online.Did all that, and gave a sigh of relief when the V&A guides politely, (behind their face mask) ushered me in towards the show.

I was not disappointed.

So much to see and take in along the one way system through the exhibition. I took my time, as there were not many people there.

The tradition, designs, handmade embroidery and construction were amazing.

My absolute love has got to be the drama around the evening coats and cocktail dresses by Jeanne Lanvin (1867-1946) in the early 20th Century and also the designs created by

John Galliano as part of the Christian Dior range in the late 20th Century.

Hope you enjoy the range of photos I took during my dream day at the V&A.
